So what does one do with an awake 2 year old, waiting the last 21 minutes before midnight on New Years Eve.... watch the 2 year old chase the dog (for the first time ever I may add) and write about the nights festivities in hopes that writing will keep me awake. Somehow, Logan is WAY more awake than I am. And I am WAY more awake than Steve who fell asleep an hour ago. (and of course more awake than Hayden who went to bed at 8:30).
Tonight we rang in the New Year at Midnight, FRANCE Time! The idea: Since with kids its difficult to stay awake and more importantly, out of the house late, we hosted a party that started at 4:00. The kids PLAYED and the adults got to hang out and enjoy each other. A Paris NYE wouldn't be complete without a visit to the cafe with a view of the Eiffel Tower.... and a NYE party wouldn't be complete without Memory Photos with an awesome background (thanks Amanda for the 2012 banner!) Then at 6:00 Virginia time, midnight PARIS, we did a count down and balloon drop! The celebration was followed with dinner (crepes, quiche and fondue) and desserts (petits fours, croissants, cookies, crepes). Each family partied until the littlest family member decided that it was time to go.
THANK YOU to all our friends who were able to celebrate here with us. A special shout out to the many friends who wanted to come but were home sick (so sad that so many friends were sick this week).
Wishing you a 2012 filled with good health, happiness and fun!
